New and Improved!

I know I've been miserable at updates on my website, and now you see why....I've been a busy bee trying to figure out how to make computers and the internet my friends.  Not easy for me at all, but I think I've finally gotten there!

Content-wise, the overall site is similar, but I hope you find it much more aesthetically pleasing.  I'm also hoping to add many more photos over the next couple months, as well as post pictures of my studio.  The studio is still a bit of a work in progress, but is lovely as is and just lacking in some details.  Email me about coming to check it out and get the lay of the land, or come to one of my monthly open houses.

Of course, the first event in 2013 is...First Event!  It's amazing that it's this week already.  I'll be getting there on Wednesday, and staying until Sunday morning.  Find me in the vending room during the day on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, or find me in the bar afterwards!  I'm really looking forward to a wonderful weekend.  See you all there!

Autumn is here

So I come home from a fantastic time down south at SCC, and find that autumn has come and sprinkled leaves all over my lawn.  I'm glad I got a last hoorah in summer with all the gals in Atlanta.  Will post pics soon :)

Of course the plus side is that there's plenty of T-friendly events to go to as the weather cools off.  This coming Friday is my open house, followed by Halloween themes a-plenty.  I'm really looking forward to October this year, even though I've got a bit of creative block on a costume so far.  Any suggestions are welcome though!

5 days and counting!

SCC is literally around the corner of this week, and I've only got a few spots left open for the conference.  If you're interested, please contact me as soon as possible!  I've got spots open for Thursday 9/20, Friday 9/21, and Saturday 9/22.

As mentioned before, I'm holding a social for the Friday after SCC, 9/28.  I'm taking appointments for that day as well, though a makeover is not required for you to come enjoy yourself for the day.  Come as early as 10am, stay as late as 8pm, and enjoy coffee, snacks, and conversation in between!  Please RSVP so I can plan according to the number of attendees, and so I can give you directions.

Glamour Boutique has announced details for their Halloween party on 10/12.  It will be held at the Indian Meadows Country Club in Westborough, MA from 8pm until 1am.  For those that have not been to Indian Meadows, it is a classy venue with the added benefit of being very private and away from the road, with plenty of parking.  I am unable to attend the actual party, but will be doing makeovers all day and into the evening at a nearby hotel (most like the Motel 6 that is about half a mile away).  If you are interested in a time slot, please let me know as early as possibly, as I tend to fully book up for any Halloween event.

Will post updates when I'm back from Atlanta, and if anyone will be at SCC, please come by my table and say hi!

September!

With fall in the air, I'm sad to know another summer has slipped by with not nearly enough hours spent on the beach.  However, it also means there are some exciting events coming up soon!  In just over two weeks, I'll be in Atlanta for my third Southern Comfort Conference.  SCC is a wonderful event, drawing over 900 transpeople and supporters, and I'm so glad to make it down there again.

At SCC, I'll be available Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in the vending area.  This year I'm not only offering makeovers, but also a Princess Package which includes makeover, stick-on nails, and a gift bag including your lipcolor for touch-ups.  I've already started booking for the event, so please email or call to reserve a time with me!

The week after SCC, on September 28, I'll be holding another open house in my studio.  At the August 1st open house, about eight people came to enjoy good conversation, picture-taking, and snacks.  Based on the fun everyone had, I'm aiming to arrange an open house every month for people to come hang out in a safe, relaxed atmosphere.

Some things to know about the open house.  It is basically a daytime event, running 10am-8pm, though you can come and go as you want or need to.  There is no "cover charge" to attend, and though I'm available for makeovers on the day, scheduling an appointment is not a prerequisite to coming.  There are light refreshments throughout the day, and private areas to change here if you'd like.  All that I ask is an RSVP so I can be prepared for seating and refreshments.

Lots of events coming up in October and November as well, but more on those later.  For now, enjoy the long weekend!

New Studio Open House!

I was intending to get out to RCC tonight, but just couldn't muster the energy.  I've been in high gear the last month getting ready to open up my new studio!  The transformation is pretty amazing (to me at least) and the space is almost ready.

So it's with great excitement that I announce my Grand Opening this Wednesday, August 1st!  Come as early as 10am for coffee, tea, snacks, and some great conversation.  Or if you can't come in the morning, feel free to drop by in the afternoon.  There is space to dress when you arrive, and either schedule an appointment for makeup with me or do your own makeup.  You are also welcome to use the facilities to go back to drab at the end of the day.

The important point is that I want to introduce everyone to my new studio space, and give people one more place to feel comfortable and meet others.  All I ask is for an RSVP; shoot me an email or give me a call if you plan on stopping by and I will send you some directions to get here.

It's been a long road to this point, and I'm looking forward to sharing this dream come true with others :)

RCC and Triangles

I love travelling around, but for the summer I'm making a concerted effort to stay a little closer to home and see people a little more locally.  So I managed to get myself down to Triangles for the Fetish Prom and to both RCC meetings this month (and one off-night at RCC).  I was glad to see a dozen or so people at RCC each time I went, but wish the turnout was a little better.  I've been when there's 25+, and it's SOOO much more fun with more girls in attendance.  In any case, here are some pics from my four clubbing weekends in a row this month.  Next scheduled night for me is Triangles on 7/14.  Take out your swimsuits for the "Beach Blanket Bingo" theme!

Busy gal

Since the last post I've been to Canada for the Gals' Spring Fling, driven through 10 states, and gone to RCC twice.  Much to update on, and I will post pics.  Upcoming events are Triangles in Danbury on 6/16.  The theme is "Fetish Prom" and this month everyone will be staying at the Maron hotel.  Next weekend, June 23, I'll be at RCC again.  Summer is kicking up and looks like Saturdays will be well-attended during the nice weather.

So the trip to Gananoque, Ontario for the Gals' Spring Fling had a rough start.  I thought to pull out my passport the night before and put it into my purse so I wouldn't forget it.  Great idea, right?  Right....except it was nowhere to be found.  I tore my house apart looking for it, but since the last time I used it I wasn't even living in this house, I seriously wondered if I had completely lost it.  I was also dreading telling my sister Maureen that our planned trip might be cancelled because I wouldn't be able to cross the border.  I got very little sleep that night, and continued looking the next day.  About four hours after we had planned to start driving, I found it.  I quickly packed some clothes and we hit the road.

Maureen and I got as far as Utica, NY and caught a quick nap at a hotel there.  We continued early in the morning, and arrived in Gananoque with an hour to spare before the first activity we registered for.  We were to have lunch down the road in Rockport and then take a boat to Heart Island.  Heart Island is absolutely gorgeous.  There is the huge Boldt Castle and several outbuildings currently being restored.  They were originally a gift of love from George Boldt to his wife Louise, but building ceased and the island left to nature when Louise died suddenly.  The Thousand Islands Bridge Authority is doing a beautiful job with the huge amount of work restoring and maintaining the island.

After about three hours left to ourselves to wander the island, everyone got back on the boat and we had a tour of the Thousand Islands of the St. Lawrence Seaway.  When we returned to the hotel, Charith was waiting for us.  Charith is a good friend that Maureen and I know from our high school days, and since he lived a mere 90 minutes away in Ottawa, we convinced him to come hang out with us for the weekend.  While the rest of the gals went to see Nunsense II at the local playhouse, Maureen, Charith and I headed to Ottawa to see his current stomping grounds.

The highlight of the next day (Friday) was getting to know some of the girls before dinner and dancing at the Royal Canadian Legion.  There were many opportunities, including my favorite, the speed meeting.  As I moved from person to person, it got harder to move along after only five minutes.  It definitely succeeded in making everyone feel more comfortable chatting later on.  Friday also offered a presentation by Jan Brown about Fantasia Fair, which I will be attending and presenting at in October.  And of course dinner at the Legion was excellent, but dancing with the band afterwards was the best.  The band, The Reasons, were fantastic and foolishly left a spare mic set up which no one was shy about grabbing to play lead singer for a song or two.

Saturday brought a pool party, best legs contest, and decorating for the big dinner Saturday night.  The weather was perfect for being outside, and I like to pretend I got a tan in the couple hours I was out in the sun.  Maureen and Charith wandered along Gananoque's main street to do some souvenier shopping while I helped transform the hotel's restaurant into our ballroom with plenty of balloons.  Before dinner was a fashion show, where a handful of girls modelled outfits purchased at Sears the day before.  The styles ranged from daytime casual to cocktail hour appropriate, and everyone had a great time with the show.  Dinner was a buffet, and everything was delicious.  The band of the night was the Mumbo Jumbo Voodoo Combo and played cajun and zydeco style music, to which everyone danced the night away.

Sunday was a lot of sad goodbyes as we exchanged contact info with new friends and packed everything for the long drive home.  Even Charith, who didn't know anyone other than Maureen and I, had an excellent time.  I'm already looking forward to next year.

Back in time

Saturday night Triangles was host to an 80's Fashion Flashback theme.  Cue the neon colors, lace, and leather!  I adore going all out for themes when I have the time to pull something together, which I definitely did this month!  Even though I know I only missed one party, it felt like forever since I've been down to Danbury.  It was soooo good to see everyone and catch up.  The day was hot, but the night was perfect for going out, and many people took full advantage of the patio.  Here's a couple of my favorite pics from the night.  Enjoy!

Important news!

Next week I head up to Canada for the Gals' Spring Fling.  There's so many fun outings on the itinerary, and I'm so excited to be a part of it!  As an added bonus, my sister will be coming with me, which really doubles the amount of fun I'd have (especially on the 7 hour car ride each way).

After the Spring Fling I was scheduled to go to Be All in Chicago.  Unfortunately, none of the elements lined up early enough, and I decided to skip 2012.  Hopefully 2013 will come together a little more smoothly, and I will be able to attend.

On a final and exciting note, I will begin working out of my home in Thompson, CT.  This is my first step toward creating a more open space with plenty of room for social time and photo shoots.  Additionally, I will have lots of shoes/clothes/accessories available to borrow.  I plan to decorate the space in the Golden Age of Hollywood style.   Hooray for Hollywood!

Hopefully all will be done sometime in July, but will definitely keep everyone posted! This new space will allow me to fulfill more requests for people, and be more flexible on timing for appointments.

I would like to thank the Glamour Boutique for all the help and wish it future success.
