My weekend plans

Unfortunately I can't make it to the Triangles party this weekend, because I'll be doing something a bit more local....the NELA Fetish Fair Fleamarket in Providence, RI.  I've been there in the past to sell corsets, but this year I'm going with just my spouse to enjoy the friendly atmosphere.  It's TG-friendly, and is welcoming to many ways of dressing....but there is a dress code you should read (basically, please cover your bikini area, including butt cheeks, no matter how cute they may be).  That still leaves a lot of room for wearing your favorite lingerie, maid's outfit, sissy dress, or any fetish wear you're not sure when else to wear.  Hands down I always find the FFF to be the most respectful, well-organized event I've been to, especially considering the size of it.

I want to point out I've been adding more resources to the Links page of my site.  I get asked constantly where to shop, who will have big enough sizes, flattering styles, high heeled shoes above size 10, and that's where you should check out some options.  I've been to all of these sites, and have either purchased something there or know someone who has.  If you have other recommendations or if you have a negative experience with one of the retailers listed, please let me know.  Positive recommendations may get added, negative feedback may get a place removed.  Some of these links give me a very small percentage of sales made back, and help keep my business going.   My interest is always first and foremost to help people find what they need to have great experiences, though, so your feedback is important to me.

As a reminder, I have an open house scheduled for February 27th.  If you're interested in coming, please let me know so I have an accurate head count in advance!

Open House Schedule

A couple weeks ago I added the dates for 2013 open houses on the calendar/event page.  I think it might be helpful to have them posted here as well:

February 27
March 28
April 11
May 8
June 12
July 11
August 7
September 25
October 10
November 5

If you want to attend one, contact me to RSVP and then just come enjoy yourself.  There's space to change and do your own makeup, or I am available for makeovers as well.  I provide some refreshments.  Really the point is to have a safe, relaxed place to meet new people.

Those of you who have been to my studio know that my driveway isn't exactly snow-friendly.  If there is snow on the ground, call me to see if the open house is still being held.

You may also notice all these open houses are on weekdays.  I do this intentionally for those who have an easier time taking a day off from work than they do taking an evening off from family.  Generally I expect to be open from 10am until 5pm on open house dates, though I am flexible depending on how many want to stay a little later.

This is a great opportunity for everyone to expand their social circle and make new friends in the T-community.  Any questions you know what to do!

FE 2013

This year's First Event was hands-down the best I've been a part of.  The event ran very smoothly, not just from my perspective but by all accounts.  This was my sixth First Event, and my fourth being around for the entirety of the weekend, so it's hard for me to find something new to say.  The same parts appeal to me every year - seeing people I see very infrequently otherwise, meeting new people, and introducing some of my more closeted clients out into the broader community.  This year I encouraged a half dozen girls I knew to get themselves to First Event for at least some portion of the weekend, and at least three of them did.  I really firmly believe it's important for people to get connected in real life in some way to others in the TG community, and I'm so thankful that First Event is available for that.

From a vending standpoint, I've never been more relaxed at my table.  I know I did just as much work as prior years, but I also know it's never gone so easily as this year.  Perhaps the work was more manageable because I simplified things this year.  More likely it was the hard work of the First Event staff that answered every request immediately and prepared the space and participants so well for the weekend.  Many thanks to Grace and Andrea in particular for the vendor coordination, and the whole of TCNE in general, for putting on such a great event year after year.

New and Improved!

I know I've been miserable at updates on my website, and now you see why....I've been a busy bee trying to figure out how to make computers and the internet my friends.  Not easy for me at all, but I think I've finally gotten there!

Content-wise, the overall site is similar, but I hope you find it much more aesthetically pleasing.  I'm also hoping to add many more photos over the next couple months, as well as post pictures of my studio.  The studio is still a bit of a work in progress, but is lovely as is and just lacking in some details.  Email me about coming to check it out and get the lay of the land, or come to one of my monthly open houses.

Of course, the first event in 2013 is...First Event!  It's amazing that it's this week already.  I'll be getting there on Wednesday, and staying until Sunday morning.  Find me in the vending room during the day on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, or find me in the bar afterwards!  I'm really looking forward to a wonderful weekend.  See you all there!

Autumn is here

So I come home from a fantastic time down south at SCC, and find that autumn has come and sprinkled leaves all over my lawn.  I'm glad I got a last hoorah in summer with all the gals in Atlanta.  Will post pics soon :)

Of course the plus side is that there's plenty of T-friendly events to go to as the weather cools off.  This coming Friday is my open house, followed by Halloween themes a-plenty.  I'm really looking forward to October this year, even though I've got a bit of creative block on a costume so far.  Any suggestions are welcome though!

5 days and counting!

SCC is literally around the corner of this week, and I've only got a few spots left open for the conference.  If you're interested, please contact me as soon as possible!  I've got spots open for Thursday 9/20, Friday 9/21, and Saturday 9/22.

As mentioned before, I'm holding a social for the Friday after SCC, 9/28.  I'm taking appointments for that day as well, though a makeover is not required for you to come enjoy yourself for the day.  Come as early as 10am, stay as late as 8pm, and enjoy coffee, snacks, and conversation in between!  Please RSVP so I can plan according to the number of attendees, and so I can give you directions.

Glamour Boutique has announced details for their Halloween party on 10/12.  It will be held at the Indian Meadows Country Club in Westborough, MA from 8pm until 1am.  For those that have not been to Indian Meadows, it is a classy venue with the added benefit of being very private and away from the road, with plenty of parking.  I am unable to attend the actual party, but will be doing makeovers all day and into the evening at a nearby hotel (most like the Motel 6 that is about half a mile away).  If you are interested in a time slot, please let me know as early as possibly, as I tend to fully book up for any Halloween event.

Will post updates when I'm back from Atlanta, and if anyone will be at SCC, please come by my table and say hi!

September!

With fall in the air, I'm sad to know another summer has slipped by with not nearly enough hours spent on the beach.  However, it also means there are some exciting events coming up soon!  In just over two weeks, I'll be in Atlanta for my third Southern Comfort Conference.  SCC is a wonderful event, drawing over 900 transpeople and supporters, and I'm so glad to make it down there again.

At SCC, I'll be available Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in the vending area.  This year I'm not only offering makeovers, but also a Princess Package which includes makeover, stick-on nails, and a gift bag including your lipcolor for touch-ups.  I've already started booking for the event, so please email or call to reserve a time with me!

The week after SCC, on September 28, I'll be holding another open house in my studio.  At the August 1st open house, about eight people came to enjoy good conversation, picture-taking, and snacks.  Based on the fun everyone had, I'm aiming to arrange an open house every month for people to come hang out in a safe, relaxed atmosphere.

Some things to know about the open house.  It is basically a daytime event, running 10am-8pm, though you can come and go as you want or need to.  There is no "cover charge" to attend, and though I'm available for makeovers on the day, scheduling an appointment is not a prerequisite to coming.  There are light refreshments throughout the day, and private areas to change here if you'd like.  All that I ask is an RSVP so I can be prepared for seating and refreshments.

Lots of events coming up in October and November as well, but more on those later.  For now, enjoy the long weekend!

New Studio Open House!

I was intending to get out to RCC tonight, but just couldn't muster the energy.  I've been in high gear the last month getting ready to open up my new studio!  The transformation is pretty amazing (to me at least) and the space is almost ready.

So it's with great excitement that I announce my Grand Opening this Wednesday, August 1st!  Come as early as 10am for coffee, tea, snacks, and some great conversation.  Or if you can't come in the morning, feel free to drop by in the afternoon.  There is space to dress when you arrive, and either schedule an appointment for makeup with me or do your own makeup.  You are also welcome to use the facilities to go back to drab at the end of the day.

The important point is that I want to introduce everyone to my new studio space, and give people one more place to feel comfortable and meet others.  All I ask is for an RSVP; shoot me an email or give me a call if you plan on stopping by and I will send you some directions to get here.

It's been a long road to this point, and I'm looking forward to sharing this dream come true with others :)

RCC and Triangles

I love travelling around, but for the summer I'm making a concerted effort to stay a little closer to home and see people a little more locally.  So I managed to get myself down to Triangles for the Fetish Prom and to both RCC meetings this month (and one off-night at RCC).  I was glad to see a dozen or so people at RCC each time I went, but wish the turnout was a little better.  I've been when there's 25+, and it's SOOO much more fun with more girls in attendance.  In any case, here are some pics from my four clubbing weekends in a row this month.  Next scheduled night for me is Triangles on 7/14.  Take out your swimsuits for the "Beach Blanket Bingo" theme!
